Lifelong Musician & Gamer

I am an orchestral composer with an emphasis on ethnic instruments.

I've been working with indie studios and solo developers on everything from fantasy RPGs to social deduction and simulation games. I love building intricate music systems in Wwise, giving each game its own unique and seamless soundscape.

I’m a pianist, a guitarist and a flügelhorn player, and you will frequently hear me play saz, irish tin whistle, shakuhachi and nyckelharpa in my compositions.

Behind the Notes

I can blame games for a lot of things in my life.

I've been playing music since forever, but it was games that made me become a composer. I studied architecture after a longstanding career of building houses in The Sims; I took up sailing because of Sunless Sea’s enveloping narrative, and I joined a longsword & rapier club after finishing the Witcher games.

I have worked as an electronics lab manager and as lead technical furniture designer where I was in charge of multi-million dollar projects. This taught me how to be responsible for every single detail, work in an organized manner with a team, all within tight deadlines. I find it natural to dig deep into the technical side of things, but I also need to create music, and I love games and the worlds they contain so I decided to be a game composer - a technical one, who doesn’t just make soundtracks, but wholly integrates the music into the game itself.

Fondest Game Memories

Wrath of the Woods | WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT

Wandering the miserable woods of Velen where the trees are dense, I came upon this antlered beast. I was just starting the game and was not prepared, so of course I rushed in swinging my silver sword. The creature exploded into a shower of crows and appeared again behind me. It took a single swing and took half my health - so I ran for it. A moment later its gnarled root-arms sprouted up from the ground in front of me. A panicked shield saved me as I escaped the woods. I’d always feel this fear of coming upon the Leshen again in that area where branches cloud the sun.

Bald man in the Castle | HITMAN 2

When I first set foot on the Isle of Sgail, I spent at least 4 hours wandering around the castle, awestruck by the beauty and diversity of this level. I wanted to feel like a true assasin, so I turned off all HUD elements so there were no objectives and no mini-map to follow other than Diana’s instructions and my own instincts. That castle is as magical as it is hostile.

Can I pull that off? | SHADOW TACTICS

Real-time, squad-based tactics game with ninjas and geishas. What a perfect game! You can queue separate orders and have them all executed simultaneously: the geisha distracts the bridge guard while Yuki sneaks past to lay a trap that thins the patrolling guards down to 3 so our dual-wielding samurai can take them all out in a single move. Time on chilly rooftops blew by in a breeze while I would meticulously plan these elaborate maneuvers. Just before hitting “Go” I would realize how much fun I was having, before all my actions went spectacularly wrong… And the music is absolutely stunning.
